The North Rim visitor services and facilities of Grand Canyon National Park are only open from mid-May to mid-October. Normally, the North Rim visitor facilities are open from May 15 to October 15. It may be different for each year due to weather condition. For the exact dates of this year for the North Rim, please call Grand Canyon National Park information line at (928) 638-7888. The North Rim may still be open from mid-October to mid-November without visitor services and facilities. Click North Rim winter season for more information. Jacob Lake Inn is the only hotel facility which is open year round in the Grand Canyon North Rim and Jacob Lake Area. The South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park is open year round.

Jacob Lake is the gateway to the Grand Canyon National Park North Rim. Jacob Lake is located in the North Kaibab National Forest at the at the junction of US 89A and AZ highway 67 in Arizona, 44 miles north of the Grand Canyon north rim. There is a Kaibab Plateau Visitor Center at Jacob Lake which opens around May 15 each year. The North Kaibab Ranger District has a Jacob Lake Campground and Kaibab Camper Village at Jacob Lake. The main Jacob Lake Campground will be closed for reconstruction throughout the 2007 visitor season. The Jacob Lake Campground group and picnic sites across the highway from the main campground will open May 15, 2007.

There are only three hotel facilities in the Jacob Lake and Grand Canyon north rim area for tourists. Jacob Lake Inn has 41 motel and cabin rooms. Kaibab Lodge has cabin 86 rooms. Grand Canyon North Rim Lodge inside the Grand Canyon National Park has 220 motel and cabin rooms.

The demand for hotel facilities in the in the Jacob Lake, Kaibab and Grand Canyon north rim is very high. Three months advance reservations are recommended.

Grand Canyon Lodge - North Rim is inside Grand Canyon National Park. Room rates are set by the National Park Service and can be changed from time to time.

200 rooms motel and cabin, a National Historic Landmark, located on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The Lodge has rustic motel rooms and cabins, a magnificent dining room with a view of the canyon, a sun room, snack shop, saloon and a gift shop. The area also has a campground, camper store, service station and laundromat. The lodge is open from Mid-May to Mid-October.

Motel rooms feature one queen bed, private bathroom and telephone. Western Cabins have two queen beds, full bath,separate/private entrance. Frontier Cabins have one double bed and one single bed, a 3/4 bath and telephone. No television, no air conditioning, no pets or cooking allowed in all rooms.

Jacob Lake Inn is the only hotel facility which opens year round in the Grand Canyon North Rim and Jacob Lake Area.
Jacob Lake Inn is located at the junction of US 89A and AZ highway 67. AZ highway 67 is the only highway to the Grand Canyon National Park north rim. Jacob Lake Inn is 44 miles north of the Grand Canyon north rim (about 45 minutes drive).

Jacob Lake Inn offers comfortable and clean rooms, ranging from the new motels rooms to historic cabins. All the rooms have showers, heaters, and a nice porch to sit and enjoy the cool mountain breezes. In addition to those amenities, the newer rooms have cable television, internet access, and phones. Jacob Lake Inn also has a gift shop, dining room and lunch counter. Jacob Lake Inn allows pets in some of their rooms with a fee of $10.

Jacob Lake Inn has a service station providing gasoline, oil changes, tire safety inspections, and light mechanic work. Jacob Lake Inn's country store provides groceries, baked goods, a soda fountain, payphones, an ATM and a letter drop for the U.S. Postal Service.

3 Hotel Name: Kaibab Lodge

Kaibab Lodge is located on highway 67, 26 miles south of Jacob Lake, just five miles from the entrance to Grand Canyon National Park's north rim and 18 miles from the north rim.

The rooms are in rustic cabin-style buildings. Most come with double beds, private bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet. There are no telephones or televisions in the rooms, however, pay phones and satellite television are available to our guests in the main lodge. Pets are allowed for some rooms.

Check-in: 3 pm Check-out: 10 am The lodge closes at 10 pm.

Reservations Cancellation Policy: Reservations can only be canceled at least 3 days before your arrival date and there is a $25.00 cancellation fee by Kaibab Lodge. First night room and tax will be non-refundable if canceled within 3 days of arrival.

The Kaibab Lodge opens from mid-May to November 2nd. Full services (including gas and diesel)are available at the North Rim Country Store.

Grand Canyon Hotels at the South Rim
Inside the Grand Canyon National Park

The Grand Canyon South Rim is located about 200 miles from the Grand Canyon North Rim. The Grand Canyon National Park south entrance is located in Tusayan which is about 10 miles from the Grand Canyon South Rim. The Grand Canyon National Park east entrance Desert View is about 26 miles from the Grand Canyon South Rim.

Room rates are set by the National Park Service. There is no discount at all. Everybody has to pay the same price for lodges in the Park. Most facilities are rustic lodges or motel style rooms. El Tovar is a Hotel. All lodges are within walking distance of the South Rim.

1 Hotel Name: El Tovar Hotel

El Tovar Hotel, the premier lodging facility at the Grand Canyon, opened its doors in 1905 and was most recently renovated in 1998. In the past, the Hotel has hosted such luminaries as Theodore Roosevelt, Albert Einstein, Western author Zane Grey, and many others. Today, El Tovar retains its elegant charm. Located on the Canyon rim, it features a fine dining room (open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner), lounge and curio shop with newsstand. El Tovar offers its guests Concierge, turn-down and room services, and is a Registered National Historic Landmark.

El Tovar Hotel has 78 rooms and suites, all with cable television, telephone, full bath and air conditioning. All rooms are non-smoking. Some rooms and suites will accommodate a rollaway bed, which would be subject to availability and cannot be reserved. El Tovar has free, self-parking. Room service is available during limited hours.

2 Hotel Name: Bright Angel Lodge

89 rooms cabin/bungalow, Bright Angel Lodge, designed in 1935, has a natural, rustic character, and is a Registered National Historic Landmark. Designed by famed architect Mary E. J. Colter, it has always been a popular place to stay and the center of South Rim activity. Located just a few feet from the Canyon rim, Bright Angel Lodge is the check-in point for the world famous Grand Canyon Mule Rides.

Bright Angel Lodge has a family-style restaurant, which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Another option for lunch and dinner, the Arizona Room features Southwestern cuisine (please note due to the El Tovar Hotel closure, the Arizona Room will remain open for dinner all winter in 2005).

During the warm summer months, the lodge offers an old-fashioned ice cream fountain. You will find a transportation/activities desk in the lobby, as well as a gift shop, lounge, and history room. Accommodations consist of lodge rooms (TV not available, some without a private bath) and cabin rooms (all with television and private bath). All rooms are equipped with telephone and most have only one bed. Please note rooms with Canyon views cannot be guaranteed.

278 rooms,Maswik Lodge is a modern facility spread over several acres of ponderosa pine forest, located just 1/4 mile from the Canyon's edge. Maswik Lodge features a cafeteria that is open from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. Here you will also find a sports bar with a wide screen TV, a curio shop stocked with handicrafts and gifts, and a transportation/activities desk. All rooms at the lodge are motel-style rooms with two queen beds, a full bath, telephone, and television. Room sizes vary somewhat between the north and south sections of the lodge. North section rooms are a little more spacious than those in the south section. Roll-away beds are available on a first come first serve basis.

During the summer months Maswik Lodge also features cabins for a more rustic accommodation. These cabins are also equipped with television and telephone services. The cabins have two double beds and a shower. Rooms for guests with disabilities are available. Open year-round.

6 Hotel Name: Yavapai Lodge

Location: 1/2 mile from the Grand Canyon South Rim

358 rooms, Yavapai Lodge is Grand Canyon National Park Lodges' largest facility and is surrounded by pinyon and juniper woodlands, about 1/4 mile from the rim. With modern rooms and many services within a few steps, this is a convenient choice for families. Yavapai East rooms feature in-room air conditioning and Yavapai West rooms have vaulted ceilings with ceiling fans. The Lodge is located next to the Market Plaza, which includes a general store, bank, and U.S. Post Office. The National Park Service Visitor Center is within a short walk - approximately 1/2 mile. Yavapai Lodge features a cafeteria that is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The curio shop has a wide range of gifts and a transportation / activities desk is located in the lobby. Most rooms offer two queen beds and there are a limited number of rooms with one king bed. All rooms have television, telephone, and full baths. There are also wheelchair-accessible rooms. Yavapai Lodge is normally open March through November and during winter holiday periods.

9 Hotel Name: Red Feather Lodge

The Grand Canyon Red Feather Lodge has two separate buildings, a motor lodge and a hotel.

The motor lodge is adjacent to the hotel and is our original building. It is a two story building with an outside entrance to each room. There is no elevator access in this building.

The hotel has interior corridors and offers larger rooms with elevator access to all floors.The rooms are equipped with hair dryers, coffee makers and data port phones.

THE HOTEL, completed in 1995, offers guests modern, climate-controlled rooms with cable TV and data port phones. Relax amid the soothing Southwestern d�cor or take a short walk to some of the best shops and restaurants in the Grand Canyon area!
